Le Moustiers vase

Piflower vase nine branches in earthenware moustiers. Hand painted. The earthenware of moustiers (department of alpes-de-haute-provence) is among the most noticed and precious manufactures of the thirteenth century. In the second half of the eighteenth century, the faience centers of small fire adopt the decoration of bird to compete with the production of porcelain manufactures. The long-legged and thin-legged bird of the heron type becomes the main motif of moustiers. Used but in very good condition.
