Lluis Puigdemont dish with fish decoration

Lluís Puigdemont handcrafted glazed ceramic dish with fish decoration. Lluís Puigdemont is a ceramicist from the family workshop of the same name located in La Bisbal d'Empordà, Catalonia. Superb decorative work featuring fish that appear to be moving in their natural environment. A unique piece of art and collectible, the stylistic representation of this decoration elevates ceramic production to the rank of graphic art. Red clay dish with hand-painted decoration depicting two fish in faded blue-green glazes with green and yellow algae, as well as a small starfish. Brown background and blue rim. The glazes are worked in volume, remarkable to the touch. This piece is unsigned, although the decoration is characteristic and highly recognizable as Puigdemont's work, from the 1960s. Very good overall condition, note a slight dent on the rim (see photos). Traces of pernettes are present on the back of the piece, indicating the artisanal aspect of the kiln firing. Dimensions: 27 cm in diameter and 3.5 cm in height.
