Dieter Rams Pair of Lounge Chairs + Ottoman 620 Series for Vitsoe 1962

Pair of lounge chairs + ottoman from the 620 series, designed by the great industrial designer dieter rams in 1962 for vitsoe germany. The chairs are marked underneath the seat cushions. The whole set was bought in the 1960s and about 30 years ago reupholstered by vitsoe itself with the original high quality oxblood leather. Also the filling was redone. The white outer shell is made from a hot-pressed sheet-moulding compound, which is similar to, but stronger than fiberglass. The chair base is traditional coil-sprung structure overlaid with a rubberised-coir pad. The highest-quality materials have been used at every level to achieve the ideal balance between comfort and longevity. It has been designed and built to last a lifetime and more. Beautiful set and very comfortable seating. The set is in very good condition. The leather excellent with a nice patina, no damages, no crackles. Also the shells are still excellent. One chair has new castors, that are slightly larger than the others. The leather headrests are now secured by velcro strips, which is not original, but doing the job. We also have the matching sofa available, as showed in the last pictures and in another listing on the website.
