Porcelain sugar bowl from the 1970s, produced by the Karolina factory in Poland, represents the Rococo style as interpreted during the PRL era. The body is in a warm, slightly creamy shade of white, with a smooth, glazed finish. It features hand-applied gilding on the edges of the lid, handles, and base, as well as a gold band encircling both the body and the lid. The sugar bowl is decorated with a turquoise-green band with a repeating golden plant motif. The piece is finished with asymmetrical handles with Rococo scrolls and four small, curved legs that give it a light appearance. The lid has a sculpted, openwork handle with gilding. The porcelain surface remains smooth and shiny, with no signs of damage or restoration. Condition: very good; all decorative elements are original and well preserved. The form of this sugar bowl evokes the atmosphere of late modernism, when design inspired by historical styles played with tradition. Rococo lines and decorations seem to speak of a longing for palatial lightness and finesse, brought into the reality of a 1970s Polish table. The gilding subtly shimmers in the light, and the organic lines give the piece the charm typical of utilitarian porcelain, which was meant not only to serve but also to please the eye. The sugar bowl will fit well in classic dining room or living room arrangements, where it can be paired with porcelain in a similar style, crystal vessels, or a decorative brass tray. It will bring a light retro accent to interiors inspired by mid-century modern, and will also complement a collection of vintage items on an open display or sideboard. It can be combined with a linen tablecloth or pastel ceramics, creating a harmonious composition on the table during family gatherings.
