Large foo dog herend in hand-painted porcelain dating from the end of the 20th century coming from the famous hungarian porcelain factory ''herend'' the large foo dog herend figurine is hand painted with a special black design. The “siang noir” decor is a classic and famous herend far eastern pattern. Mythological description: the fo means buddha or prosperity in foo dog or fu dog. Herend and the entire austro-hungarian monarchy were influenced by orientalism in the 19th century, so it was a no-brainer for them to include foo dogs in their product line. This hungarian luxury porcelain factory founded in 1826 conquered the european aristocracy for the quality and originality of its creations. Even today, it stands out by relying on unique know-how, thanks to 200 painters working in its workshops. Marks on the back very good condition (see photos) dimensions: 25.5 X 12 cm height: 26 cm.
