His rich and varied artistic journey led him from funerary sculpture to the creation of avant-garde tableware. From classical beginnings to a ceramic revolution. After studying at the School of Applied Arts in Industry in Paris, Pol Chambost took over the family marble business. It was in this environment that he became familiar with raw materials and sculpting techniques. However, his heart leaned towards ceramics. In the 1930s, he opened his own workshop and began experimenting with new shapes and glazes. His early creations were influenced by Art Deco, featuring clean lines and geometric forms. But it was in the 1950s that his style matured. He then explored more organic shapes inspired by nature, using bright and contrasting colours. A complete artist. Pol Chambost was not only a talented ceramist but also an entrepreneur. He created his own brand and exported his creations worldwide. His pieces are now sought after by collectors and art enthusiasts. Recurring themes in his work. Nature: Pol Chambost often drew inspiration from nature to create his works. Thus, forms of leaves, fruits, or shells can be found in his ceramics. Women: The female body is another recurring theme in Chambost's work. He created numerous sculptures representing women with generous forms.
