A vintage four-compartment decanter, also known as a four-chamber bottle or liqueur decanter. The round, lobed bottle in clear glass is divided inside into four separate chambers, each with its own neck and pouring spout. This lets you keep and pour four different liqueurs, syrups or oils from one bottle. The base is marked ‘Bottle made in France’ in the glass. Bottles like this were used from the 1950s to the 1970s by French liqueur houses as luxury gift packaging with four liqueurs in one bottle, mainly for export. The gold-coloured collar from the original packaging is still around the neck. A playful and recognisable piece of vintage barware: the play of light in the four chambers is beautiful, and the bottle is still practical to use on a bar or drinks cabinet. Fun on a bar cart or drinks cabinet in a mid-century, retro or French bistro interior. Also lovely as a vase for four single sprigs or flowers. Material: mould-blown glass; plastic pouring spouts; gold-coloured metal collar. Condition: good, with signs of use. The gold-coloured collar around the neck is damaged and torn, and a remnant of the old label is still on the neck. There are some spots and deposits on the inside of the base. No chips or cracks seen in the glass, but not all inner edges can be properly assessed in the photos; extra photos are available on request. The four plastic pouring spouts are complete.
