We are fascinated by Hans-Agne Jakobsson's ability to maintain simple lines in such a complex swirling design! The shaping of the pine wood veneer into this elegant and organic form showcases Jakobsson's skills as both a visionary designer and master craftsman. Clearly influenced by the aesthetic of the "Organic Modern" movement championed by Poul Henningsen and Alvar Aalto, this onion-shaped pendant light, in onion brown, is a striking marvel. Jakobsson was known for his innovative use of materials to achieve soft, non-glare lighting: once lit, the light passes through the slits of the layered veneer and creates a geometric pattern at the intersections of the slats. Highly sought after by collectors of modern Scandinavian design, this quite imposing pendant is in very good condition with only a few signs of its age: upon close inspection, some veneer slats show slightly brittle edges without impacting the structure or visual appearance. The natural fibre cord tied around the double helix-shaped cable shows some signs of age. Dimensions: Body height: 55 cm. Height with cable: 75 cm. Body diameter: 45 cm.
