Pair of EWA upholstered armchairs from 1960/1970

The exceptionally neat and comfortable Ewa armchair is now a very rare acquisition. The furniture was designed in 1962 and more or less since then has been produced in Strzeleckie Zakłady Przemysłu Terenowego in Strzelce Opolskie. The fruit of the cooperation between the factory in Strzelce and the factory in Waldhaim, what was then the German Democratic Republic was the almost twin Koeln 1 armchair. In the Ewa armchair, a frame made of steel, welded rods is supported by four slender, steel, screw legs, ending with movable feet, and in the Koeln 1 armchair, on one, also steel, swivel leg. A pair of armchairs has undergone a comprehensive renovation. The steel feet were cleaned of rust and old paint coatings and re-painted with black varnish. The seat belts and upholstery sponges have been replaced, the whole thing is finished with high-quality velor fabric.
