The prie-dieu is a liturgical piece of furniture on which one kneels to pray to god. During the second half of the nineteenth century and until the beginning of the 1st world war, craftsmen and furniture manufacturers offered prie-dieu for churches. It is most often a kind of low chair (more rarely a bench) with a degree that acts as a kneeling (sometimes mobile when the seat has a folding part), and an armrest, book rest or desk. This prie-dieu in stained beech and varnished has an openwork back with slightly worked balusters, on the desk are inscribed with nails the initials r.r, the seat is in canning very pretty and flawless, it rises on a small seat that allows you to kneel to pray, it has been renovated with a fabric with pastel patterns to give this chair a little modernity and originality. The condition of this prie-dieu is good at the level of the structure, it has some traces of wear that remain normal compared to its use as well as previous insect holes, however, I preferred to redo a treatment to be sure to eliminate any presence of life. Weight 6, 260 kg. Height 82 cm. Width 46.5 cm. Seat height 46 cm. Cushion height 24 cm. Width 34.5 cm. Seat width 40 cm. Backrest width 35 cm.
