Magnificent pair of earthenware plates from the Sarreguemines factory, with a naturalistic relief decoration. Monochrome color tending towards khaki brown. One decoration depicts a bird catching a fish above a pond, surrounded by an elegant motif of ears of wheat. The second depicts a bird perched on a branch with a hare at the foot of a tree in the background, surrounded by an oak leaf motif with acorns and hazelnuts. The relief work and the deep-colored enameling are typical of Sarreguemines' late 19th / early 20th century production, in a very decorative rustic style. Manufacturer: Sarreguemines.
