This walnut console table, made at the very beginning of the 19th century in the pure spirit of the Empire period, captivates with the nobility of its wood, the controlled sobriety of its lines, and the quality of its gilded bronze ornaments. Its rectangular top rests on a façade elegantly animated by a drawer, enriched with a finely crafted false front and adorned with two large circular handles in chiselled bronze, whose shine highlights the refined character of the piece. At the front, two columns, moulded with collars at the top, structure the silhouette with an architectural presence typical of the imperial style, while at the bottom, a wide shelf connects the whole and offers additional display or storage space. The piece stands on two ball feet at the front and two straight feet at the back, providing a stable stance. A piece for property or the countryside, both functional and decorative, this walnut sideboard embodies the sober elegance and quiet strength of Empire furniture, capable of bringing a note of authenticity and distinction to any interior. Period: Early 19th century. Excellent condition after restoration in our cabinetmaking workshop. Finish: waxed. 556V.
