Pair of 1611 armchairs by Rob Parry for Gelderland 1952

Pair of 1611 armchairs designed by Rob Parry in 1952 for Gelderland. One of the first designs he made for Gelderland and certainly his most successful. The chairs have been recently reupholstered in a gray Kvadrat Tonus fabric (100% wool). The foam has also been renewed. The frames are made of solid black lacquered beech. Very comfortable seats. Before starting his own design studio, he worked in the studio of Gerrir Rietveld, who was his most important inspiration and teacher. The chairs are in very good condition. Some normal wear on the frames.
