Superb pair of finely chiselled and gilded bronze candelabra, in Louis XV rococo style, dating from the 19th century. ■ Each candelabrum rests on a moulded circular base mounted on three curved feet with scrolls. ■ The central shaft, designed with sinuous plant stems, displays 4 asymmetrical arms of light, richly adorned with acanthus leaves and stylised buds. ■ The chalice-shaped bobèches with fluted edges evoke blossoming flowers, a typical decorative signature of the rococo style. ■ The quality of the chiselling is particularly refined: sharp reliefs, deep modelling, and a beautiful dynamic in the movement of the arms. The old gilding has a warm and even patina, with slight nuances that highlight the authenticity of the whole. ■ Presence of numbering underneath attesting to artisanal production in several elements. The raw interior, tool marks, and the casting texture visible under the base are perfectly compatible with quality production from the 19th century. Dimensions. Height: 43 cm. Maximum width: 20 cm. 4 lights per candelabrum. Sold as a pair. 19th century - Louis XV style work. Very good overall condition. Old gilding with natural patina. Structure perfectly stable. Signs of use consistent with age.
