Hollywood Regency bamboo floor lamp by Ingo Maurer for M Design, 1960s.

An early design by the famous lighting designer Ingo Maurer from the late 1960s and early 1970s. An elegant and classic design of impressive size. The base shows the segmentation of bamboo, but here it is designed in an idealised form and made of metal. The lampshade and the base are special. The lampshade starts just above the last segment and is mounted inside on a discreet bar, creating an effect as if the lampshade is floating above the base. The large lampshade is in a dark box, bordered by a shiny volume at the top and bottom. The interior is silver-coloured to enhance light reflection. The lamp features a striking foot switch and a cable outlet on the top of the base.
