"Campbell's Soup Can" stool by Dino Gavina, Ultramobile Simon, 1971

"Campbell's Soup Can" stool designed by Dino Gavina in 1971 and published by Ultramobile Simon, labelled "Omaggio a Warhol" on its original tag. Made of painted and screen-printed metal, it features the image of the Campbell soup can made famous by Andy Warhol. Its removable lid allows it to be used as a seat, small table, or storage space. Dino Gavina thus transposes one of the most recognisable motifs of Pop Art into furniture, within the context of Italian design experimentation in the early 1970s. Edition: Ultramobile Simon, 1971.
