Signature in blue ink of a key, representing the signature of the animal ceramic artist karl ens. It is on a 1/1 scale, and represents a life-size nightingale. This sublime display item dates from the mid-20th century, around 1950. The karl ens porcelain factory, founded in the 19th century, is one of the three most famous in saxony porcelain, specializing in the representation of animals, but more particularly birds with more than 400 models. The pieces from this factory are known worldwide for the quality of realistic representation of birds, but also for the finesse of the porcelain and the quality of the colors used.
