Napoleon III display cabinet with marquetry, marble and bronzes – 19th century. Elegant Napoleon III display cabinet in Louis XV style, dating from the late 19th century (circa 1875-1890). This piece features a refined silhouette with flowing lines, typical of Second Empire furniture, with a façade that has projections resting on four curved legs adorned with bronze hooves. The cabinet is made of veneered wood with beautiful marquetry work in warm tones (rosewood / probable palisander). The central door is decorated with an elegant herringbone veneer (Hungarian point), framed by a moulded cartouche. It consists of: — two side display cases with glass shelves, — one solid central door, — an interior upholstered in damask fabric with a floral pattern. The whole is highlighted by original decorative bronzes: frames, drops, hooves, and a central rocaille ornament. The top surface is made of veined pink-beige marble, cut to the shape of the cabinet. A decorative piece full of character, easy to integrate into a classic or more contemporary interior. Condition: Good overall antique condition. Some signs of age and minor marks of use consistent with the age of the furniture. Delivery: Preferably collection in person.
