Vintage blue and white earthenware soliflore vase from Portugal.

Small tubular soliflore vase in earthenware, hand-painted in shades of blue. Glossy white glaze, cream glazed interior. The cylindrical body features a decorative design in registers: friezes of posts at the top and bottom, bands of arches and dots, floral and leafy motifs in the centre on a washed blue background. Free brushwork and slight irregularities in the painting, characteristic of manual work. The underside bears the painted mark "V.L. Portugal", the number 2369, and a painter's monogram. Portuguese manufacture, probably from the second half of the 20th century. The blue decoration on a white background is in the tradition of Portuguese earthenware and evokes the vocabulary of azulejos. This vase can find its place on a bedside table, a shelf, a windowsill, or a dining table, with a stem or a few dried flowers. The blue and white can suit a chic bohemian or Mediterranean decor as well as a more minimalist interior. Height: 12 cm, diameter: 3 cm. Weight: 100 g. Condition: small loss of glaze at the top of the body, fine vertical line in the glaze under the neck, unglazed base stained and worn, glaze of the body generally in good condition.
