Monastery table in solid oak, France, 1930s. The monastery style dates back to medieval convent furniture — it saw a reinterpretation in the 20th century by regional cabinet-making workshops, which produced high-quality versions for grand houses and reception spaces. This is a solid example of that. The thick solid oak top, with a regular grain and deep dark patina, rests on two turned balusters with a very sculptural profile, showcasing the true depth of turning that distinguishes workshop craftsmanship from industrial production. The moulded rectangular-profiled pads and the central oak crossbar, with its original tightening wedges still in place, complete a coherent construction from the floor to the top. The satin varnish finish preserves the oak's appearance and its warm hue. The table is heavy, stable, and designed for intensive use. At 220 cm, it comfortably accommodates ten people. Please note that one of the shelves is missing in the photos but will be sent with the table. Reference LDP: 20260420-004. Dimensions: L220 × D89 × H78 cm - height under the apron 72 cm.
