Jacob & Josef Kohn chair in curved wood and engraved 1800

Superb curved wooden chair signed by jacob & josef kohn from the late 1800s. The classic curved wood coffee chair has a decorative pressed wood seat and a beautiful dark stain. Chairs dating from 1867 - 1914. In very good condition, very solid, patina of time. J&j kohn are leading furniture markers in mid-19th century austria: they worked closely with artists from the wiener workstatte and were thonet's main competitors. They merged with mundus in 1914 and with thonet in 1921.
