An oil on Canson depicting the portrait of the painter Besset. Monogram JB in the bottom left, dated 1962 and located in Île de Ré. Framed with a glass cover. Period: 20th century. Framed dimensions 59x40 cm. Good condition. Ref adequantik 2605267. René Besset (1900-1980), French painter. A student of the École des Beaux-Arts in Lyon (1915), he joined the French army in 1920. In February 1928, he travelled to Italy and then settled in Paris. A member of the "Nouveaux", he exhibited portraits and compositions at the Salon des indépendants from 1927 to 1929.
