Pair of Siena KMK glazed stoneware dishes, Scandinavian, 1965.

Pair of modernist Siena serving dishes in glazed earthenware from around 1965, signed KMK Germany. Siena is a legendary tableware service created by Siegfried Möller for the Kupfermühle workshop, an avant-garde pottery studio from the 1960s. Stunning glossy milky white cover on a light and dense white clay, contrasted with a thick matte wood-coloured rim applied by hand - you can see the brushstroke. Absolutely modern, with a calm and chic minimal presence, like a small miracle of deliberate simplicity from elsewhere. Available are sets of dinner plates, soup plates, and dessert plates, all in perfect condition with rare and tiny imperfections - photographed. Diameter of 24cm for the dinner plates and 20.5cm for the soup plates - depth 3.5cm, and 21cm for the dessert plates. No question of going in with your eyes closed, as Selency said, they are too beautiful! Dimensions of the serving dishes: 22.5cm x 13.5cm, in perfect condition with no signs of use.
