Superb table service in fine earthenware signed JBC, attributed to the Chedeville factory, active in France at the end of the 19th century. Brown-sepia printed decoration enhanced with gold, featuring garlands and medallions, in an octagonal shape: a typical set of great French earthenware from around 1880–1900. An exceptionally complete set. This service includes 84 matching pieces, several of which are rare: 42 flat plates. 23 dessert plates. 15 soup plates. 2 sauceboats. 3 footed compotiers. 1 salad bowl. 1 large covered dish. 2 elongated dishes. 1 medium dish. 1 large dish with pierced insert (rare in collections).
