This early 20th-century nightstand with its parma marble top was originally intended to hold a chamber pot. At a time when the toilet was at the bottom of the garden or on the landing. This is why the interior is made of earthenware and not wood. Between the color of its top, the door handles and its ornaments, the charm was there. It had to be magnified. I love the contrast between the ultra-glossy black lacquer and the raw wood protected with an extra matte varnish. A simple personal touch of wallpaper in the drawer to perfect this beauty and a drawer knob also found for the occasion. The marble top is simply magnificent. It has some traces of time, inevitably, at over 100 years old; you really have to look closely. Where would you put this nightstand. An entryway. A living room. A bedroom?.
