Set of 2 vintage Rob Parry for Gelderland lounge chairs model 1611, The Netherlands 1952

Teak wooden frame and new cushions with new off white upholstery. New springs. Seat Height 40 cm, Seat depth 48 cm. With minimal use of materials, Parry managed to make an elegant and spacious design. The combination of these properties and the use of metal is a perfect example of Dutch Mid-Century Modern design. In his career he designed many items. Famous are for example his Lotus Lounge chair and sofa, F&T dining or side chair, coffee table and Parlez dining table. Together with Friso Kramer, Martin Visser, Cees Braakman and Wim Rietveld, Rob Parry is among the best and famous designers of the Dutch midcentury.
