Description
Bruno munari designed ''abitacolo'' in 1971, a modular structure in multifunctional light gray varnished trellis which allows children to read, work, play and tidy up. Maximum functionality in minimum space. Abitacolo received the prestigious compasso d'oro award in 1979 and is on display at moma in nyc. in abitacolo everything is modular, transformable to adapt to the needs of the child and their growth, to stimulate their imagination and their spirit of autonomy. The two horizontal grid planes are height adjustable. The bottom grid serves as a 190 x 80 cm bed base and the top one for storage. The structure can evolve over time and with age, the bottom shelf becoming a large desk for example. Original piece, signed and in its complete version, supplied with its accessories: baskets and shelves, its original plate with the number. For identification, the support for the small desk (just the wooden shelf is missing because the original was damaged), some screws and the original hooks. All parts can be dismantled, they are in good condition with a few exceptions where we find some chips in the varnish and slight twists in the metal which do not prevent the structure from being easily assembled and guaranteeing its solidity. Total weight 50kg, it can carry up to 140kg.
