Bruno Munari designed in 1971 ''abitacolo'', a modular structure in multifunctional light gray varnished lattice that allows children to read, work, play, tidy up. Maximum functionality in a minimum of space. Abitacolo received the prestigious Compasso d'Oro award in 1979 and is exhibited at the Moma in NYC. In Abitacolo everything is modular, transformable to adapt to the needs of the child and his growth, to stimulate his imagination and his spirit of autonomy. The two horizontal grid planes are adjustable in height. The bottom grid serves as a bed base 190 X 80 cm and the top one for storage. The structure can evolve over time and ages, the bottom tray becomes a large desk for example. Original piece, signed and in its complete version, provided with its accessories: baskets and shelves, its original plate with the number. For identification, the support for the small desk (only the wooden shelf is missing because the original was damaged), some screws and the original hooks. All parts are removable, they are in good condition with some exceptions where we find some chips in the varnish and slight twists in the metal that do not prevent the structure from being easily assembled and guarantee its solidity. Total weight 50kg, it can carry up to 140kg.
