Antique piece with chips and restoration: charming covered cheese dish in Quimper earthenware, signed HB (Henriot-Bousquet). This model with a contoured edge and a sculpted lid with a blue striped handle is decorated with a typically Breton decoration: a couple in traditional costume, surrounded by floral garlands in bold colors (green, yellow, orange, blue). A table object as utilitarian as it is decorative, it was used to protect and present cheese or butter on large family tables. The decoration is hand-painted, each detail bearing the mark of the Quimper earthenware factories of the late 19th century and the very beginning of the 20th. Signature: HB (Henriot-Bousquet) under the base. Antique and restored condition: several chips on the edges and an old restoration visible (see photos), but beautiful brightness of the colors and authentic charm of a piece that has stood the test of time. Diameter 20 cm for the plate and 13.5 cm for the cover. For the bell, height 5.5 cm including the handle, 4 cm without the handle, 1 cm depth for the part where the butter or cheese rests. A rare collector's item for lovers of Quimper earthenware and enthusiasts of antique tableware. But also perfect for the cottagecore style brunch where it will bring a touch of Breton authenticity.
