The model 51, beter known as the parallel bar series with a brushed chrome and black finish steel frame and upholstered in black leather were designed by florence knoll in 1955 for knoll international. This sofa was produced under license in belgium by kunstwerkstede de coene around 1964. The Knoll label is not present but this sofa was bought together with a set of slipper chairs with Knoll label.
