'Graphic Shelf 'Code 1' by Nana Gröner for Zeitraum - 2007

Dimensions: 60x30cm H: 232cm. Material: white laminated wood - aluminium. Founded in 1990, ZEITRAUM was the first German furniture manufacturer to prioritise the combination of ecology and design. The aesthetic of the Code 1 shelf from Zeitraum comes from the graphic grid of its façade, a structure borrowed from modernist architecture. The strict and serene outer contour contrasts sharply with the rich and nuanced inner structure. Zeitraum deliberately leaves the edges of the base material visible, here tinted grey. The clever design of this shelf makes it versatile. It rests on four different standard interior dimensions that, when systematically arranged, form the Code 1 shelf. This makes it suitable for art books, binders and magazine holders, as well as paperbacks, DVDs and CDs. The Code 1 shelf thus naturally integrates into living rooms, kitchens, offices and workshops. Code 1 is a shelf with fixed compartments and no visible connectors. Its innovative sandwich construction allows for a low profile (10 mm) while ensuring great stability. The discreet metal feet are also height-adjustable to compensate for uneven floors.
