Mid-Century Apothecary Island / Shop Counter in Mahogany - Germany 1960s

This impressive and highly functional apothecary counter from the 1950s/1960s is a brilliant example of German utilitarian mid-century design. Crafted with beautiful sapeli mahogany veneer and solid wooden drawer boxes, it features polished brass handles, 23 regular drawers, four tall pull-out vertical bottle racks, and a cleverly hidden plinth drawer. The original off-white Resopal laminate top offers a highly durable workspace, while the open side compartments with curved wooden dividers add a unique architectural touch. As the back is unveneered, this substantial piece is perfect for placement against a wall as a grand sideboard or as a striking kitchen peninsula in a Mid-Century Modern or eclectic interior.
