Authentic TON mid-century stool, produced in Czechoslovakia circa 1956 and retaining its original manufacturer’s label. This beautifully preserved example of postwar Czechoslovak furniture design combines a dark-stained beech wood frame with elegant tapered legs and a distinctive woven webbing seat construction. The stool retains its original removable padded cushion, upholstered in an expressive period floral fabric with contrasting piping and button detailing. The surviving original upholstery is particularly appealing and gives the piece an authentic decorative character that is increasingly difficult to find in vintage examples from this period. Its light architectural frame, woven construction and compact proportions reflect the functional yet sophisticated approach associated with Czechoslovak mid-century furniture production. Ideal as an occasional stool, footstool, dressing stool or decorative accent alongside a lounge chair or armchair.
