Bronze Grand Tour style tazza. An elegant tazza in Pompeian style made of bronze and slate, designed by the famous French sculptor Ferdinand Levillain (1837-1905) in collaboration with Ferdinand Barbedienne. This tazza is decorated with a bas-relief medallion in the 'Neo-Grec' or 'Pompeian' style, featuring the classical figures of Zeus giving Pandora a sealed jar/chest. With detailed neoclassical scrolling handles. French, circa 1860. Signed 'F. Levillain'. Dimensions: 23H X 41L X 33D cm.
