Round platter depicting rays. Signed jc taburet. Object in perfect condition (the three white marks on the bottom of the plate are due to the manufacturing process). Jean-claude taburet (1926–2013) was a french ceramist and sculptor, a key figure in the revival of quimper faience. In 1956, he joined the faïencerie hb in quimper, where he developed a style inspired by celtic legends. He created works for public spaces, while also participating in national exhibitions. In 1984, with his wife marjatta, he founded the atelier du steïr in quimper. Their work blends breton and finnish traditions. Jean-claude taburet died in 2013, leaving a body of work deeply rooted in breton art.
