White on green. Pair of jasperware neoclassical decorative cups by wedgwood. In perfect condition. United kingdom, circa 1870. Diameter: 15cm. Jasperware is a world-famous type of ceramic that was developed by josiah wedgwood starting in 1772. This so-called stoneware is unglazed and is mainly made of a semi-glossy performance biscuit. The range is mainly executed in light blue with white relief decorations. In addition, the objects appeared in many other colors, which was one of the missions of the experimental phase, in which jasperware was wrong until 1777. That year, the first objects were produced for sale.
