Pair of Royal Doulton plates 20.5 cm English earthenware Imari decoration 19th century

A pair of dessert plates made of fine English earthenware from the Royal Doulton factory, model "Chinese Diaper", identifiable by the printed mark on the reverse. The decoration, typical of the Japonisme taste at the end of the Victorian era, combines a wide geometric frieze inspired by Eastern textiles with floral reserves and a central medallion inspired by Imari in shades of grey, black, blue, green, and orange. These plates have a diameter of 20.5 cm. They maintain a beautiful decorative presence with a patina consistent with their age, slight crazing of the glaze, and some visible signs of use on the reverse. No significant chips have been observed in the photographs. A decorative and collectible pair, ideal for wall display or an old mismatched service.
