Very beautiful 19th century pastel beautifully framed by an octagonal gilded wooden frame. The painting depicts a handsome brown man with elegantly dressed blue eyes. This portrait of a man is dated 1861 and signed duverger for the artist théophile emmanuel duverger (1821-1898) french painter, founder of the colony of artists of écouen, relating to the realistic and naturalistic styles, and representing mainly landscapes and genre scenes. Condition: good general condition. The frame has probably been repainted on the edge and has a shine on the top. (see photos).
