Magnificent and rare Arc chrome floor lamp by Leclaire & Schäfer, Germany, 1970. The Arc floor lamp presented here is definitely reflective of the 60s/70s and the Space-Age movement: sleek, designed, and futuristic. Its profile, with curves and geometric shapes, is typical of a period when design was heavily inspired by scientific advancements and space exploration. This design piece commanded high prices at the time due to its quality of craftsmanship. The floor lamp features a lead base covered with a chrome metal shell, an adjustable chrome metal arc structure that can be lengthened thanks to an ingenious and aesthetic adjustment system, and a "spatial" diffuser also made of chrome metal. This design piece can easily complement an Eames table, a Corbusier chair, a Scandinavian sideboard, a Togo sofa, or a Breuer armchair. The floor lamp is in good vintage condition. The chrome has been cleaned and polished. The structure has some minimal signs of wear/oxidation that have been polished and protected, thus stabilised, and it remains in very good overall condition. The diffuser is in very good condition with no chips or missing parts, only a few signs of friction on the top of the diffuser, which are therefore invisible. The floor lamp is fully functional and has its original stamp under the base.
