Description
Pretty and unusual ceramic from acoma (new mexico) from the 1950s/1960s, created by lucy martin lewis born around 1890 and died in 1992. This artist, native native american potter and having lived in acoma pueblo has created all her life beautiful ceramics with geometric decorations now sought by lovers around the world. Present in many prestigious collections, it also appears in american museums. Her distinctions were numerous and in 1977 she was invited to the white house. Her tribe admired her so much that she considered the land she worked to be sacred. Good condition if not some slight normal wear and alteration of the décor in one place visible in the photographs. No shock or crack. Height 8.2 cm. Diameter 9.5 cm.
