Superb antique mirror in the Louis-Philippe style, probably made in the second half of the 19th century. With generous dimensions (171 × 111 cm), this mirror stands out for its elegant frame made of moulded wood and stucco, its delicately rounded upper corners, and its fine beaded frieze highlighting the inner perimeter. Its main appeal lies in its remarkable turquoise blue patina, revealing through wear the different layers of paint, old traces of gilding, as well as the light preparation of the stucco. A unique patina, full of poetry and authenticity, that testifies to its history. The old glass, preserved, shows pitting and alterations to the silvering, contributing to the charm of this character piece. The back retains its traditional protection made of old wooden boards. Condition: A beautiful antique piece, preserved in its original state. There are cracks and fissures on some mouldings, chipping and paint loss, as well as a material loss of about 4 to 5 cm in the lower right corner. The glass shows pitting and a more pronounced area of silvering alteration. These traces of time contribute to its antique aesthetic and should be appreciated as such. Dimensions: Height: 171 cm Width: 111 cm A decorative piece of great presence, ideal for a character home, a country house, a bohemian interior, or in contrast with contemporary decor.
