Oil on panel depicting a lively market in vibrant colours, by the painter Francesco di Marino, Naples (1892-1954). Dimensions: 25 X 18 cm, frame: 56 X 45 cm. Francesco Di Marino. Francesco Di Marino (Naples, 1892-1954) was an Italian painter of genre scenes, lively views, and coastal landscapes. A student of Cammarano and then Dalbono, he faithfully adhered to the tradition of plein air painting, following the landscape concept established in Naples by the Posillipo School. He thus connected not only with his masters but also with Casciaro, Pratella, Scoppetta, and later Galante, De Corsi, Villani, and Viti, gradually refining his expression and characterising his work with immediate perception, authentic emotion, and assured technical mastery. Di Marino was capable of capturing the fleeting aspects of nature and landscape on canvas with a freshness of sensation and a touch that was both gentle and broad, a quality possessed by few painters.
