Two Imigongo paintings / panels traditional art from Rwanda

The imigongo is a panel painted with geometric patterns with protruding edges. The thickness of the painting is made of dung, considered in rwanda as a noble and useful material. Mixed with ashes, it is then placed and shaped on the wooden panel. After drying, the work is painted with natural pigments. Dimensions: 30 X 20 cm the relief, the apparent sobriety, the depth of the straight or curved lines which entirely occupy the panels allow multiple arrangements on the wall.
