This glazed stoneware pitcher (probably salt-fired), with a bright brown glaze, looks like it came straight out of a kitchen of yesteryear, one where the gesture was precise, the materials were raw, and the objects were made to last. Three decorative bands in relief like "small holes" punctuate its generous body. A simple detail, but imbued with care, accompanied by a particularly stylish spout. The kind of motif found in utilitarian stoneware from Bonny-sur-Loire or Berry, two regions with a rich pottery heritage. The glossy glaze, probably obtained by salt-firing, and the shape, perfectly balanced between robustness and elegance, reinforce this impression of authenticity. Possible origin: Bonny-sur-Loire or Berry (La Borne, Henrichemont, etc.): no signature betrays the craftsman. Only a small, enigmatic, discreet "3" engraved under the base suggests a numbering or capacity. An unsolved mystery, but an intact poetry. Height 21 cm, diameter at widest point without handle: 13 cm. Very good condition, no chips, beautiful patina. Perfect as a rustic vase, as a wabi-sabi decorative element, each reflection catches the light of time. To adopt if you like silent objects that speak volumes.
