The Hug counter stool features a light aesthetic where a 12 mm steel rod frame meets the flexibility of 3.5 mm double-layered leather. Designed to provide an enveloping "hug" sensation, the body weight is distributed evenly across its organic forms. Each unit serves as a sculptural refuge of visual and ergonomic wellbeing, inspired by the curves of nature and the silhouette of the wind. The collection is crafted from cold-bent steel rods, polished, nickel-plated, and coloured by electrolysis. This precise manual technique ensures a uniform metallic finish of 50 microns, successfully passing salt spray corrosion tests (UNE-EN ISO 9227: 2017). Our signature brass screws, lathed and polished, fix the premium saddle leather to the frame, ensuring structural integrity and a refined finish. We use Spanish hides, vegetable-tanned using traditional organic techniques with natural barks and oils. This process gives the 3.5 mm leather its distinctive flexibility and a graceful ageing process. Selected from the food industry (animal shoulder), the leather may show natural marks or neck wrinkles, which certify its authenticity. All parts feature double-sided hides to show only the highest quality grain. Customisation & Versatility. Clients can customise pieces to complement any décor. Leather options include Black, Navy, Dark Brown, Cognac, and Natural Tobacco. Metal finishes are available in Aged Brass, Black Smoke, and Aged Silver. While we typically use tone-on-tone stitching and hand-painted edges, contrast options and custom heat embossing stamps for branding are available upon request.
