Pair of chairs Napoleon III, 19th century

These original chairs are a creation of the reign of napoleon III who likes to borrow motifs from past centuries. Here, the rosary of decorative balls forming the studs, feet and braces is a borrowing from the louis XIII style. In the second half of the 19th century, certainly blaming this old style for being too stocky, the shape of the chairs preferred rather than that of the armchairs.
