DESCRIPTION: A stunning, authentic antique Japanese-style floor lamp, entirely hand-painted with traditional Japanese landscapes, figures in period attire, and traditional Japanese hairstyles. The design also features floral motifs throughout. The lamp was likely crafted in England during a period when Japanese art served as a major source of inspiration—a style known as Japonisme or Orientalism. It dates back to the late 19th or early 20th century. The lampshade is brand new, crafted from an off-white woven fabric with an elegant, angular, circular silhouette. It includes an internal plastic lining that ensures the shade remains sturdy and holds its shape perfectly. An exquisite piece for an Asian-inspired interior. This is most noticeable on the base, though the finish is stable and not peeling further. The faces of two of the figures have faded.
