The rectangular ceramic frame, with slightly irregular edges, features a gilded glaze with speckled effects reminiscent of patinated bronze. Eight diamond-shaped cabochons in shiny carmine red punctuate the perimeter at regular intervals, creating a precious contrast with the matte background. The rectangular mirror is set in the centre. This work of glazed ceramic with cabochons, straddling the line between a piece of art and a wall jewel, allows for a stylistic connection to the work of Mithé Espelt, a French ceramist whose glazed and gilded mirrors from the 1950s-1960s are currently experiencing a strong resurgence of interest. Condition report: Generally good condition. Fresh and shiny glazes, glass in good condition. A small precious mirror, to be hung alone in an entrance or integrated into a wall of artist mirrors.
