This sofa was designed in the 1960s by Marian Grabiński. It perfectly fits the mid-century modern style and strongly references the designs of Scandinavian architects of the period. The sofa's frame is made of solid ash wood with beautiful grain and a warm color that will warm up any room. The sofa's turned legs taper towards the base, widening again at the ground level. This leg design was characteristic of many of Marian Grabiński's designs. All wood elements ahve been professionally and carefully restored by removing old coatings, staining and finishing with varnish. The restoration was carried out by a talented and experienced carpenter with over 20 years of experience. Thanks to these treatments, the sofa looks stunning and will serve its new owner for many years without fear of damage or wear from everyday use. A distinctive feature of this piece is its three separate seating areas, ensuring comfort for every user. The seat and backrest have been reupholstered in a recycled wool fabric in beige-powder pink color. The upholstery foam has also been replaced. Marian Grabiński was one of the leading furniture designers of the 1960s, combining the Polish school of design with the emerging Scandinavian modernism. As an engineer and designer, he created furniture based on functionality, modularity, and noble materials, responding to the needs of modern interiors in post-war Europe. In his design work, Grabiński created storage systems, chests of drawers, cabinets, and cabinet furniture, as well as sofas and armchairs, which were first introduced to the Polish market. These were distinguished by their simple design, logical division of space, and flexible use. His designs responded to the changing lifestyle of the 1960s—smaller apartments, the need for order and functionality, without sacrificing elegance. Seat height: 39 cm.
