This classic bentwood chair needs no introduction! Since the 1920s, this model 209 has often been referred to as a "masterpiece" due to its design and craftsmanship: the backrest and armrests are formed from a single cantilevered curved frame, made from a single piece of solid beech. Still manufactured today, this iconic chair has not aged a bit. The ones we are offering are difficult to date; we estimate them to be from the 1950s/60s. However, the very old label on the underside attests to its authenticity and advanced age. This model originally had a very worn cane seat. It has been restored with a plywood seat, foam, and a lime green velvet upholstery fabric. The frame has been repainted white and shows some scratches revealing the old dark green colour. Dimensions: seat height 49cm. Backrest height 80cm. Total width 56cm. Depth 47cm.
